For many Lankan parents who reside outside Sri Lanka, providing their children with a glimpse of their native culture and language has become a challenge. This is due to inexperience of parents on teaching a native language and lack of opportunity to experience the sri lankan culture with similar aged kids. Thus, for many kids who live outside of Sri Lanka, communicating in Sinhala language is challenging.
This program is designed by Sanetra to educate and familiarize young children of Sri Lankan expatriates on the Sinhalese language, literature and composition.
During this program, we look forward not only teach the Sinhalese writing system, but to combine it with a collection of social activities that they would have experienced if they were in Sri Lanka. Additionally, this program would allow kids of similar backgrounds but from different parts of the world to work together since a very young age.
The introductory program is planned for 3 months and would repeat of based on the feedback of the participants.
Additionally, tailor made programs could be arranged based on inquiry.
